Keep afloat without a lifejacket

Condition

In a swimming pool or suitable protected waters of sufficient depth.

Performance requirement

Behavior Standard
The student will: During assessment, the student shall, at a minimum:

Keep afloat without a lifejacket.

Demonstrate, for a period of at least one minute, the ability to:

  • Float on back
  • Tread water.

Location

Assessed in MC‑STCW0 Orientation STCW.
