Contribute to the handling of stores	ABE-C2.1 Knowledge of procedures for safe handling, stowage and securing of stores

Condition	Behavior	Standard
On a vessel or in a laboratory or workshop, when handling stores,	the candidate demonstrates knowledge of stores-handling gear and equipment such as cranes, derricks, and winches.	The candidate’s demonstration or description includes: Inspecting the equipment to be used to ensure that it is good operating condition and suitable for the load to be lifted Unstowing the equipment to be used Performing any rigging and that all of the ancillary equipment is readily available, including, block and tackle Lifting a load and moving it to a predetermined location, as determined by the assessor Securing the equipment in its stowed position; and Stowing ancillary equipment.

In order to satisfy NVIC 18-14 Task 8.1.B , MMA students must:

Pass MMA Course CC‑MANT Shipboard Maintenance
Successfully complete MMA Assessment ABDE-DE-1 Demonstrate crane and hoist signals
